Mrs. Estelle Ross and the Library Bookmobile, 1948 Librarian Estelle C. Ross stands beside the first county-owned bookmobile for this photograph captured by her brother, Baby Ray Cornwell. The bookmobile participated in the Lincolnton Christmas parade in 1948 and was on display at the library following the parade. The county purchased the vehicle through state aid and offered adult fiction, adult non-fiction, and fiction, nonfiction, and magazines for children.
